ODL Mode Courses District – Burdwan
What is ODL :- The full form of ODL is Open Distance Learning. This course was started from December 2012. This course is for those Primary Teachers, who have not two years P.T.T.I. training or they complete only one year P.T.T.I. training. Through ODL Mode Courses Govt. started to complete there degree.
This course is also for those unemployed or Ex-P.T.T.I. trainee, who have already completed One year training under the supervision of the Government.
Purpose of ODL :- The NCTE issued a circular that, those Primary Teachers who have not Two years P.T.T.I. training they must have to complete their degree within 2015. For that reason Sarvasikshya Mission started ODL Mode Courses to train the untrained Primary Teachers by the expenses of Govt. under a monitoring cell under the observation of D.I. (District Inspector) in several Districts.
The rule is also applicable for unemployed or Ex-P.T.T.I. trainees, who had already completed their One year degree under Sarvasikshya under supervision of the Government. And for that reason Government started a course for unemployed candidates to train them under One year Bridge course to complete their course.
Number of trainee teachers in ODL Mode courses :- The ODL Mode Course started to train total 4,998 enrolled Primary Teachers who have not One Year or Two years P.T.T.I. degree. So this training are divided into two different ceiling, Named :- (a) One Years Bridge Course and (b) Two years D. El. Ed. Course. The 1,937 trainee Teachers are admitted in One Year Bridge course and 3,061 trainee Teachers are admitted in Two years D. El. Ed. courses.
From ____/____/_______, the Government also started a training program to train 229 enrolled unemployed or Ex-P.T.T.I. trainee under ODL Mode Courses, who had already one year degree under the supervision of the Government.
The Govt. also selected 926 Primary Teachers for training who had join as a Primary Teacher at 2014, under One year Bridge Course or Two years D. El. Ed. Course. Features of One year Bridge Course :- Those trainee Teachers who already had one year P.T.T.I. degree. The Govt. started a program to train them under one year bridge course to complete there Two years P.T.T.I. degree. Nine (9) subjects have in One year Bridge course. The name of the subjects are given below.
(i) Primary Education : It’s context and concerns (ii) Teaching learning process (iii) Integrated learning and Teaching in Primary Schools (iv) Educational technology and Evaluation (v) Teaching of English (vi) Computer application in Education (vii) Workshop based activities (viii) School base activities (ix) Practice of Teaching (English) (Practical 50 marks) From (i) to (viii) paper, each subject’s total marks = 100 Paper (ix) total marks = 50 So the grand total marks for One Year Bridge course Exam is = 850
Features of Two years P.T.T.I. Course :- Those trainee Teachers have not any P.T.T.I. degree. The Govt. started a program to train them under Two years P.T.T.I. course to complete their Two years P.T.T.I. degree. Total 14 subjects including compulsory optional paper have in Two years P.T.T.I. course.
The subjects are divided into two term. Called, First year term end Examination and Second year term end examination. The name of the subjects of First Year term end Examination of Two Years D. El. Ed. Course are given below.
(i) Understanding children in inclusive context (ii) Pedagogic process in elementary schools (iii) First language (iv) Second language (English) (v) Mathematics (vi) Workshop based activities (vii) School base activities
Full marks of each Subject from (i) to (vii) is 100. So, total marks in first year term end examination of Two Years D. El. Ed. Course are 700.
The name of the subjects including optional paper of Second Year term end Examination of Two Tears D. El. Ed. Course are given below.
Each Subject from (i) to (vii) have 100 marks. So, total marks in second year term end examination of Two Years D. El. Ed. Course are 700 So, total 14 subject have in Two Years D. El. Ed. Course.
Features of One year Bridge Course for unemployed :- The unemployed or Ex-P.T.T.I. candidates who already hade one year P.T.T.I. degree. The Govt. started a program to train them under one year bridge course to complete their Two years P.T.T.I. degree. Total 6 subjects including compulsory optional paper have in One year Bridge course. The name of the subjects and optional paper are given below. (i) (ii) (iii) (iv) (v) (vi)

All 18 College’s have one batch, except Durgapur B. Ed. College. Durgapur B. Ed. College have two batches. About Examination :- Till date three types of Examination have been completed. Named :- (a) Final Examination of One year Bridge course. (b) First year term end Examination of Two years D. El. Ed. Course and (c) Final Examination for unemployed or Ex-P.T.T.I. candidates.
(a) Final Examination of One year Bridge course :- The final Examination of One year Bridge course (theory papers)has been completed on 31/01/2014 . The mark sheet is also given to the candidates.
(b) First year term end Examination of Two years D. El. Ed. Course :- The first year term end examination of two years D. El. Ed. course has been completed on ________/________/__________ . The Xerox copy of mark sheet has been given to the candidates through the S.I. offices.
(c) Final Examination for unemployed or Ex-P.T.T.I. candidates :- The final Examination of Ex- P.T.T.I. candidates has been completed on ______/_______/__________ . Number of candidates appeared at the examination is = 197
Supplementary Examination : - Number of candidates appeared at the Supplementary Examination of One Year Bridge Course (ODL Mode) is 5 (five) and the number of candidates appeared at the Supplementary Examination of first year term end examination of Two Years D. El. Ed. Course (ODL Mode) are 39 (thirty nine).
